Book Review blog giveaway and must thank Erika so much and Diane as well for sending me this book I loved Dangerous Desire I could relate to the characters well with their love of dogs I really enjoyed the banter between the characters especially Tori she was a great sub character And good gordy Cruz What a hottie everything a woman could ever want and of course Sienna is what every woman wishes she could be There were only a few little hiccups that distracted from the book for example I didn't see the point of her loosing her job except to gain sympathy also it seemed a little fast for their relationship to grow over a single weekend I did however like seeing the realistic conflict between Cruz and Sienna after the moment of crisis All in all though it was a great book a fast read and very entertaining I couldn't put it down 355 I can't round up to four There were some issues with the writing I'll write about them further downThe book itself is really cute and hot Not my usual reading material and I had a harder time relating to the heroine Sienna because I'm not a dog lover I like animals but I don't have any desire to own a dog Sienna and Cruz both loved their dogs Like children Babied them kissed them fretted about them I don't have that drive Please don't hate meSienna was married for 18 years to the father of her daughter Marina Sienna got pregnant at 18 and tried to do the right thing as did the father Lazaro However after 18 years she had had enough She wanted passion love and to be happy She wasn't any of those things She has been divorced for three years and has been discovering herself and how to make herself happy I really liked Sienna as a person She was funny warm and caringCruz Santino is a Pet Detective I giggled too dam you Ace Ventura As a former cop turned PI he has the uniue skill set to find lost or stolen dogs His trusty Canine companion Roman the German Shepard is always by his side and is an integral part of his investigative techniues I did like Roman and if I were going to have a dog I would love a K9 Trained German Shepard Cruz is Alpha Strong dependable and hot And Dirty I like dirty men in the bedroom He was also a Talker Another plus ;Sienna's dog is stolen and she hears about Cruz's Agency from her best friend Tori's boyfriend Dan Who is a police man and good friends with Cruz They search for Zola Sienna's Beagle daughterThe plot revolves around Dog FightingFor the most part I enjoyed the novel but there were some glaring technical issues The scene transitions were really rough One second you are somewhere the next you are somewhere else with no how you got there One second Sienna and Cruz are talking the next Cruz was gone it was 12 hours later and he was knocking on her door I had to go back and re read to see if I missed where he left It wasn't writtenFirst Sienna was at Cruz's house then he left to go investigate the dog fighting but somehow Sienna got home to her house But she didn't have a car because Cruz had driven them back to his house in his car Little inconsistencies but they add up uick It took away from my reading enjoyment a little because I kept having to back track to see what was going on It was pretty choppy I would encourage the author to have beta readers and tighter editing if possibleDuring the entire novel only two days had passed However I'm so glad that neither Sienna or Cruz said I love you and that the epilogue was 6 months later It felt real to me I also really liked the epilogue It was cute Especially the part about Marina and the man she is going to marry in the Burgundy shirtIN summary a uick hot read with a hot alpha male and caring compassionate female Great if you love dogs Dangerous Desire gave me a story that was uniue which I always enjoy For that alone I liked it right off the bat The characters of Sienna and Cruz were so cute together I loved that they were a bit older than the age group you get when reading most romances At the upper end of 30 Sienna isn’t thinking about meeting a man In fact she has kinda sworn them off Actually she’s had a horrible day ending with finding her dog gone and her house ransackedCruz is the best pet detective in town Nothing gets in his way Except the bombshell that just showed up distraught over her missing beagle Clues are pointing to an old foe and a dog fighting ring Sienna is beside herself with worry over her precious pup and Cruz will stop nothing to bring her back to the woman he is growing to loveThis was a cute contemporary romance with a suspense type undercurrent I found it to be well wrote and there wasn’t any long lags that I found while reading it The only thing that bugged me isn’t very understood even by me I love my dogs Don’t get me wrong I have two myself Now if I knew without a shadow of a doubt up front that I was dealing with a dog fighting ringsureI’d go all out If I just came home and found my dog gone and my house ransacked? Well I dunno I’m not exactly made of money you know? Hiring a pet detective would be a bit out of my price range So in that respect I had to askwould someone who had just found out they were losing their job only had a decent savings to float them for a while hire someone pricey to find their dog? Past that I loved the bookCruz being a former cop had a lot going for him I enjoyed his attitude and loyalty His guilt over the death of his friend a few years prior still eating at him was a heartfelt emotion I felt bad for him and was rooting for Sienna to finally get him to move past something he had no control overI enjoyed Sienna’s sensuality and her ability to just talk to Cruz I loved their interactions because they felt real She was incredibly well rounded and held steadfast to her beliefs Coupled with the secondary characters of both their friends I found the cast to be complete I did wish we would have gotten to know Sienna’s college age daughter a bit but there is a slight set up for another bookso maybeDangerous Desire is a sweet romance with enough heat to have you anticipating the next foray into sexiness I really enjoyed this book if you like contemporary romance with some seriously luscious guys you need to read Dangerous Desire Reviewed by LisaSienna Diaz has had a hard day Nothing went right and she just found out that she will be laid off soon She just wanted to go home and relax with her beagle Zola But as she pulled into her driveway she realized that something was not right Her beloved little Zola who usually peeks through the window as her owner comes home everyday is not in her spotSienna fearing the worst rushes out of her SUV and into her house She finds her front door wide open and that her house is a complete and total wreck And worst yet no sign of her sweet beagle anywhereShe immediately calls the police who arrive and search the place and get a statement from her on any missing items The intruders seemed to have only gotten away with a bit of money she had stowed away for emergencies and an old cell phone was damaged However the most glaring thing not there was her dogHeartbroken and distraught over the loss of her dog she decides that she won’t stop looking for Zola Sienna enlists the help of her best friend in the world Tori who’s boyfriend just happens to be a cop He recommends a detective agency that specializes in missing animals His friend Cruz Santino runs itSienna will do almost anything to get Zola back and hires Cruz to find her He’s an ex cop who’s slightly jaded from his life on the force stating that he’s seen what humans are like and would rather help animals who had soul But Cruz fears the worst as and evidence is placed in his hands that Sienna’s dog wasn’t just running around loose He thinks that Zola was than likely stolen for sinister reasons It all leads to a dog fighting ring and Zola is just what they were looking forWhat ensues is a story filled with great sexual tension a super sexy male lead and a feisty strong and capable heroine in the seedy underbelly of dog fighting rings and its gruesome disgusting and sickening waysEscalera did a good job in depicting what happens in these dog fighting rings and the people who manage and partake in such things She also show how you can start a new life even after it seems like so much time has passed and so many things have happened since you were a young twenty somethingThere were a few things that I was a little skeptical about such as how uickly the relationship between Sienna and Cruz developed I mean it seemed a little rushed Like maybe it could have been stretched over a little longer time frame because it felt too perfect And also some of the dialogue bothered me But overall it was a solid read I’d recommend it to fans of contemporary romance with a little action thrown in and tough alpha males Also if you’re a pet lover especially dogs this will really appeal to you Online blurbSometimes you have to lose one thing to find anotherSienna Diaz is desperate to find her missing beagle no matter what publisher's websiteMy opinionSienna Diaz is a divorced mother of a college age daughter who lives with her faithful and much loved beagle Zola After a day from hell she returns home to find her home has been broken into and trashed and Zola is gone Luckily her neighbor's boyfriend is a cop and he refers Sienna to Top Dawg the best in pet and animal recoveryCruz Santino is an ex marine and ex cop who has turned his crime fighting and investigative training skills toward a niche business of animal recovery A pet lover he's determined to reunited pets and owners and along with his brother Cole he's turned Top Dawg into the most successful business of its kind out there All his energy has been focused on keeping himself and his german shepherd Roman in top shape and growing his business so he's amazed by his instant attraction to Sienna Not only does he vow to return Zola to her he privately vows to explore this white hot attraction between the two of themThere are several things I really liked about Dangerous Desire One was that it was a book highly centered around the main characters' relationship with pets and how powerful that can be The other was that I enjoyed the main characters themselves Cruz was really hot and I happen to love very buff men Sienna had both strength and determination going for her a nice mix and not at all TSTL or Mary Sue I got a kick out of Roman Cruz's german shepherdDangerous Desire could have benefited with a bit critical editing however There were what felt like a few too many author plot devices and some aspects of the dog fighting and pet detective storyline that could have been better served with a bit of a broader body of knowledgeThe romance and sex portions of this erotic romance were well handled and uite hot and the lightness of the plot built around dog fighting meant it was enjoyable as an erotic romance and a bit of a romp but not as much as a suspense story Dangerous Desire was a nice escape from my day and given that I'm a pet lover as well I really enjoyed the animals and the fact the main characters were both pet lovers I also appreciated Ms Escalera's inclusion of multi cultural characters without making a presentation of it the characters are who they are and they just happen to be multi cultural I really liked that aspect of Dangerous Desire Review posted at Hesperia Loves Books3755 StarsI REALLY enjoyed this book With the exception of some minor editing glitches this is a fabulous read and my first by Diane EscalaraSienna came home from work to find her house broken into and her beloved beagle Zola missing After searching all night with no luck finding her Sienna takes the advice of a friend and contacts a professional From the first moment she meets Cruz there is an instant connection could he be the one she's waited her entire life for? At 18 Sienna got pregnant and married the father Lazaro She was young in love and believed had the entire world ahead of her After 18 years of being unhappy and unfulfilled she decided to end the marriage She wanted needed After being divorced for several years she knows what she wants from a relationship is strong and confident enough with herself to accept nothing lessCruz is a strong very dominant male He knows what he wants in a woman and refuses to settle until he finds her Sparks fly when they meet and a whirlwind weekend and dog rescue ensue Even though I am a huge animal lover and the plot in this book was refreshingly new that aspect took a backseat to the very HAWT romance between Cruz Sienna I completely identified with this book I had my first child was married at 18 I thought I knew everything when in reality I was just a baby myself with a lot growing up to do still to do I didn't have the life experience yet to know who I was much less what I needed from a significant other Sometimes just because you have love for a person doesn't mean that that person is the one meant for you Thankfully I found my soulmate in my husband all those years ago Sienna wasn't so luckyMs Escalara wrote very real believable characters Often times in romance novels the Hh are professing their love after only a matter of hours While Cruz Sienna knew they had something special they also realized love takes time work My only issues with this story were scene transitions at the beginning of the book It was difficult for me to keep up and I had to re read the first couple of chapters just to make sure I wasn't missing anything This seemed to correct itself by the middle and for me no longer was an issue Ms Escalara's writing style allowed the story to be beautifully told without being too rushed or overly descriptive I definitely look forward to reading from her ♥ Posted on Under the CoversI really enjoyed reading this one At first I was a little skeptical about the whole pet detective thing I wasn’t sure how something like this would hold my attention but I was thrilled to admit that I loved itDangerous Desire starts off when Sienna Diaz comes home after losing her job She hopes to gain some comfort from her little Beagle Zola but instead she finds her home broken into and her precious Zola gone In an effort to get her little Zola back she contacts her Cruz Santino an ex cop who runs Top Dawg When the evidence shows that little Zola may have been taken to use in a dogfighting ring things get pretty rough Now let’s start with all the things I loved about this bookFirst off Cruz is some hawt stuff I adored his character and from the moment he was introduced I realized then that I would love this book Ms Escalera does a fantastic job with her characters I absolutely fell in love with all of them Sienna is a complete sweetheart and I loved reading from her POV Tori Sienna’s best friend was freakin’ hilarious She may be my favourite of all I loved her rapier wit and upbeat personality I almost wish she were real so I could be friends with her Dan Tori’s boyfriend was always a great character I loved his dynamic with Cruz And lastly Cole Cruz’s brother Wow what can I say? Please tell me there’s a book about him I would love to read itIn addition to the great characters I also really loved the bursts of personality that Ms Escalera added in The humor was fantastic making me laugh out loud at some of the things I’ve read I can truly say I really enjoyed reading this oneThe plot progressed smoothly and efficiently and I loved the author’s overall writing style This review is bordering on a fangirl obsession so I’ll just say this Dangerous Desire was a great read that got me all hot and bothered over Cruz and laughing out loud with Sienna and Tori If you’re looking for an entertaining read then this is it Look no further My reviewFirst line of storyWhat a crappy day If one thing went wrong Sienna Diaz would scream so loud she'd pop an arteryWhen Sienna Diaz comes home from work she discovers her house has been trashed and her beloved dog Zola is missing Desperate as she is she hires Cruz Santino an ex cop who now tracks down missing pets for a living He uickly discovers that her dog was stolen for a purpose to be bait in the dog fighting industry Sienna will do whatever it takes to get her pet back but cannot fail to notice what a hot guy Cruz is and the way he stares at her their attraction is mutual Three years ago she got divorced and since then her love life has been nonexistent Perhaps it is time to revive it and Cruz might be the right man for the job Cruz Santino cannot take his eyes off the hot woman who has hired him to find her missing Beagle The attraction between them is explosive and he is determined to explore it further but finding her pet has to be his top priority As the illegal dog fighting industry attracts lots of thugs and criminals Cruz decides to keep Sienna at his side so she is safe While they search for Zola they also explore their explosive chemistry together and Cruz discovers that Sienna might be the one for him Now he only has to convince her that he is the one for herI really liked the blurb of this story but I wasn't so sure about the hawtness of this story A pet detective first thing I thought of was Ace Ventura mmmm Jim Carrey no offense but he is not very hot in my book but Ace Ventura is no match for Cruz Santino The guy is hot with a capital H In no time the two main characters Sienna and Cruz whisked me away to sunny Florida and held me captive with their romance till the very last page What a pleasant hawt surprise this story turned out to be I loved itSienna Diaz is a character many readers will easily connect with She is in her late 30's divorced with a full grown daughter away at college The last three years of her life have been all about creating a new life for herself So far she has played it safe thankful for finally having some inner peace She somewhat lost herself in her marriage and is now finding her true self again She is fiercely independent sassy witty and direct But she is also a great mom compassionate and caring; she is in control of her life So when Cruz enters her life and she feels this strong attraction to him she knows she has to act on itCruz Santino is a very likeable character; it is very easy to fall in love with him He used to be a cop but lost his motivation to continue and uit to start his own company Top Dawg He runs his office together with his younger brother Their brotherly banter cracked me up Cruz has many different layers; he is very much an alpha male very protective of the ones he loves He radiates power control raw appeal and has a steely exterior All of this conceals a much gentler side that is only reserved for certain situations He is easy to get along with and his relationship with Roman his dog is touching and mirrors what kind of guy Cruz really is Ambitious always in control responsible and loyal to the bone Yet also very caring honorable and laidback He knows what is important in life but building his business took up all his time leaving no room for loveHer eyes slowly drank him in Good God He had the sexiest bod she'd ever seen Taut and tan his muscles were chiseled in a way that gave his dimensions beautiful symmetry Tori would 've been impressed She'd always preached about the importance of muscle balance Some men took it to the extreme Not Cruz He sported a tapered waist with shredded abs V shaped torso and arms that made her drool Basically Dangerous Desire has two plotlines the romance and the suspense part The whole story takes place in approximately 4 days and it is only 194 pages long Yet Diana Escalera manages to create a believable story it is fast paced and off and running from page one but it did not feel rushed to me at all I was afraid that the missing pet angle would be laughable and too simple to create a thrilling suspense part but it had dept and was thrilling right up to the end because the story takes you to the dark twisted world of the dog fighting industry a pet’s owner worse nightmare Both the romance and the suspense part are in balance I love how the secondary characters like Cole Dan and Tori easily blend into both parts of the story giving the story an extra dimension From the moment Cruz and Sienna meet you feel the mutual attraction rolling of the page you could say it was love at first sight for them but it really was lust at first sight Love came a little later which is why I totally believed in them I love the fact that Sienna is five years older than Cruz and that this is not an issue between them at all Miss Escalera fabulously builds up and releases the tension between Cruz and Sienna with hot erotic scenes and I love how they grew closer with every bit they got to know about each other The sex scenes are sexy and hot and it clear that they belong togetherThis story was a fabulous reading experience for me Miss Escalera’s voice is thrilling and full of passion I am looking forward to read of her work Fast paced and fluent witty and moving Dangerous Desire is sizzling hot from start to finish 45 stars When I first started this book I was concerned I would not be able to finish it I am an animal lover and dog fighting is part of the plot line Fortunately it is not too graphic in that area and definitely represents the evils of the “sport”The sex however is graphic and hot There is a plot to the story so it is not just one sex scene after another I particularly enjoyed the scenes where Sienna tries to check Cruz out without him noticing It never seemed to work Whenever she looked at him she caught him looking at her He was most definitely an ass man while she drooled over his chest and abs I have to say they way they were described I would be drooling tooWhat I did not like is the fact that they immediately fell in bed with each other Sienna has just lost her dog that she considers her child She is distraught and heartbroken There are several scenes where she breaks down in tears I completely understand her emotions Then a few scenes later she is laughing and partying with her friends or making out with Cruz I just didn’t find it believableI liked the book well enough that I would probably read a seuel The ending of the book hinted at one I did not like it enough to add this author to my autobuy listCROSSPOSTED FROM
