Kindle Edition Ê Shameful PDF ↠

Shameful Let me first say as a mother of a teenage boy the woman who put her hands on my son would regret it for the rest of her very short lifeThat being said I loved this book I found myself rushing home from work and immediately picking up where I had left off neglecting housework and staying up late because I just couldn't put it down I had to keep turning the pages to see where the author would take the story Throughout the book Joanne kept saying that this can't end well As the reader you know that she is correctit all has to come to a head and boy does it This was an intense emotionally draining hard to put down read surprisingly I really enjoyed it Thirty nine year old Joanne accidentally meets Alex a sixteen year old stud who gradually coalesces with her family This wouldn’t ordinarily be a problem except Joanne feels vulnerable to Alex’s charms since her husband has been away for months Throw in Joanne’s fourteen year old daughter who falls for Alex immediately and you got a recipe for disaster Joanne’s best friend is an attorney who cautions about Texas’s age of consent while Joanne’s mother warns about the conseuences of infidelity But neither can derail Joanne’s collision course once sparks begin to fly and ignite to full blown passion Alex is the drink of water Joanne has been looking for and once she has a sip she falls hard into a situation that cannot end well for anyone Or can it For open minded over 18’s onlyJoanne is a desperate housewife with an absent army husband and though financially secure she is most certainly not happy Feeling overwhelmed and under appreciated a moments loss of concentration during the drive home from a weekend with the in laws changes her life in ways she never imagined Dicey has hit on a very controversial subject here that could possibly offend some readersI on the other hand am not offended But that’s easy to say because the age of consent in the UK is sixteen so in my world the issues raised may be immoral but they are not illegalDG did a wonderful job in building Joanne’s character letting us get to know her as a Mother and a wife with high moral standards before we had to watch her very cringe worthy downfall to ‘paedophile’ It was uite disturbing to see because I had become so attached to her that it felt like I was witnessing a friend choose a path that could not end well but I was unable to prevent her from making the mistake I understand why Dicey did this and it worked if I hadn’t connected with Joanne at the beginning it would have been easy to condemn her for what she was thinking about doing but once I knew her it wasn’t uite so black and whitethe waters were murky and I had to uestion if we have the right to generalise and judgeThis was an easy one to rate no ifs and buts it gets 5 Stars and it’s worthy of every one of them I couldn’t read fast enough to see what happened its written in a style that suits my reading and the plot was unpredictable from beginning to end Dicey Grenor has a very warped mind she aims to shock in her work and shameful surprised the hell out of me Oddly the most horrifying bit in the book that I found was not the intimacy between our two MC’s it was a scene that involved Joanne’s daughter Shimmer that finally had me dying ten thousand deaths and blushing even though I was alone when I read it and if I’m honest had me feeling very uncomfortable I will not explain further no spoilers here Love can be forbidden for many reasons and there will be opposing sides on every issue Shameful is ultimately a romance concentrating on a relationship that is ‘forbidden’ and I’m sure this fact alone will bring with it some negative comments and reviews For me the book shocked me surprised me saddened me and made me smile I found it such an emotional journey that I am moved by the book and that is what I look for when I readWow Disclaimer I Recevied a copy of this book in return for an honest reviewWhere do I start with Shameful? I do love taboo books they give me an extra escape and really get my brain going so I was excited to start this book It was a well written book and did a great job touching on a very Taboo subject without turning it into a dirty book about pedophilia The relationship between Joanne and Alex starts innocently enough and you can see her trying hard to fight the feelings she may or may not be having but after being alone for months you can ALMOST see how it can happen Her husband Chad is an ass and that was hard for me to read He's a military man stationed abroad and as supporter of the military and a friend to many military personnel I know that most soldiers don't act like him when they leave for a tour but some do The book was easy to read but I found myself having to continually put it down and walk away which is why I gave it 35 stars My intrest was easily held long enough to finish but there were issues between Joanne and her children that were hard to read As a mother who experienced serious Post Partum depression the way that she acted towards her children and some of the feelings she expressed were hard for me to read and brought up some very bad memories so my views may have been a bit skewed from the start on that issue The only other issue I had was the ending The ending it's self was fulfilling but it happened almost too abruptly One minute you're reading hot and heavy in a very dramatic scene and then Bam it was over I personally didn't like how it endedbut again I'm going to chalk it up to my recent battle with PPD I will keep this book on my kindle and will most likely re read it in a year or so when my own personal issues aren't so fresh in my mind I would easily recommend this book to anyone with an Open mind and a taste for books on the Taboo I finally stopped waiting until I had time and MADE time to read this autographed novel sent to me by the incredibly talented diceygrenor Dicey who introduced the literary world to a narcoleptic vampire has written a disturbing yet deeply emotional story about one of society's greatest taboos The author has no issues with sexuality in her other works and could have gone that route with this tale but instead has done a wonderful job focusing on the emotional and mental turmoil surrounding our two main characters Joanne and Alex From the very beginning this story gripped me with its smooth pace and depth of characters Dicey has written many books but this one from 2011 may be among her bestMy Rating 4755 stars This is possibly the hardest book I've ever put a review up for My conclusion is that Dicey Grenor's writing makes me optimistic about reading her paranormal romance novelsJoanne is a 39 year old mother of three who falls slowly for sixteen year old Alex The hardest part about reading this was that I wanted to shake Joanne until she went to therapy for her post partum depression distorted thinking and inability to cope with her life I get that there wouldn'g be much of a story if Joanne realized that hating her kids being suicidal homicidal narcissistic etc meant it was time for professional helpI suppose that I'm not much of one for non fantasy non science fiction books so my opinion on this one should be boiled down to well written interesting with very sexy moments and a lot of frustrating moments but I'll be trying out this author's other books because I think I'll like them Shameful by Dicey Grenor ‘Shameful’ is Grenor’s first novel and I do have to agree with the author the behavior of the heroine was indeed shameful However this did not take away from the fact that the book was an interesting read It hooked you from the opening paragraph until the final unexpected ending This story had everything love sex unfaithfulness heartbreak and then self fulfillment The heroine spans the gamut You hate her you love her you feel her pain in empathy and then in the end you exhale with her The book had me on the edge of my seat I literally could not put it down The ending will blow you away Highly recommend Good Bad Right wrong Premeditated or just fate? In real life however even though experience often demonstrates that it's not that simple we can't shake off the expectation that the difference between right and wrong is going to be easy to sort outThe reader feels so helpless crying out don't don'tbut of course she does The agonizing suspense is reminiscent of the film Notes on a Scandal same theme of older married teacher involved with her student or Sin by Josephine HartWell done First of all the idea of a grown woman having an intimate relationship with a 16 year old guy is not really that controversial to me since where I'm from the age of consent is 15 This is not a twisted tale of a female predator disguising as a housewife and mother nor is it a tale of a ruthless woman corrupting a man too young to know his own good so if you're in to that kind of kink then this is not the book for you Its the story of a woman who after having had her needs neglected for too long putting her family before herself time and time again finally comes to life again learning to laugh and love and feel like a woman even though it happens to be with a sixteen year old young man Having said that Alex as the boy is called is uite an unusual young man who because of certain circumstances has had to grow up fast and is very mature for his age both physically and mentally The tension slowly builds up between the two as Alex spends and time with Joanne and her three children becoming an almost permanent fixture in the household as he helps out around the house and with the kids a help much needed by Joanne as her husband is in the military and spends most of his time stationed abroad Understandably it takes time for Joanne to give in to her emotions and let go but when she finally does it sizzles The author has really managed to put the sexual tension and desire between the two of the protagonists into words and turns it into something uite beautiful and lustfully erotic at the same time Dicey Grenor doesn't only give life to an endearing love story but also to the awakening of a woman who finally finds the courage to fulfill her passions and dreams As it all comes to a head she doesn't hold back and its impossible to put the book down I truly enjoyed this story and wish there were young men like Alex in the world
